Becoming a Carer
There are over 50,000 children living in foster care in the UK. Foster care provides them with a safe and secure family environment and allows them to keep in contact with their own families if appropriate.
Orange Grove Fostercare recruits and trains foster carers for their important role as main care providers for these vulnerable children. With offices throughout England, Orange Grove can offer you local support if you would like to foster.
Potential foster carers have to have a commitment to helping children, a willingness to learn about children's needs and the stability and energy to provide the warmth, flexibility and perseverance needed to make the placement work.
The training and assessment period can help applicants decide what sort of fostering they could do best - emergency, respite, short-term, long-term as well as the age range of children they could best care for.
Children and young people referred to Orange Grove Fostercare come from a wide range of cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds and so we actively seek carers from diverse backgrounds.
