Hillcrest Sandilands is an Ofsted registered children’s home offering 52-week care and education placements. It is a large detached family home located in Croydon, Surrey.

Philosophy of care
Hillcrest Sandilands offers children aged 10–16yrs the opportunity to experience group living in order that they may develop empathy and a sense of belonging. Working and playing in small groups enables the children to understand the importance of boundaries, structure and negotiation.
Hillcrest Sandilands provides a safe and nurturing environment in which children can explore their feelings and form appropriate attachments. The home is particularly successful in enabling children to return to fostercare or their own families.
Therapeutic care
Theraputic provision is provided by qualified practitioners and currently offers counselling and Art Therapy.
Education
Education is provided at the nearby Cressy College, registered with DCSF and catering for pupils aged 11-19yrs. Education is provided in a structured and caring environment and planned to meet both academic and pastoral needs of the young people.
Activities
Children also enjoy activities such as swimming, football, rugby, athletics, camping, bowling, go karting, holidays away and day trips to local centres, arts and crafts.
Admissions
Wherever possible admissions should be planned and involve all family and professionals so as to ensure each placement has the best possible start. Emergency referrals can also be considered in certain circumstances.
