Kerry and Kevin

Kerry and Kevin started fostering for Hillcrest in July 2000. Their first child (a boy aged 6 years) was waiting for them as they walked out of panel and he is still with them today now 14 years old. Kerry comes from a fostering family and together with Kevin and their own four children their fostering capacity has grown along with their house, which has undergone various extensions along the way!

Kerry and Kevin

Asked what makes fostering worthwhile, Kerry and Kevin say "We feel every small change in a child that we care for makes fostering worthwhile. To see their confidence and self esteem grow, to watch them experience and try new things and enjoy family life makes a big difference to our lives too."

Linda

Linda HulseLinda began her fostering career by offering respite to young people for other foster carers, however, she soon decided to become a full time foster carer. She has cared for 18 young people, and has been approved as the permanent carer for a young girl who has been with her for several years.

The rewards for Linda have been knowing that in lots of ways, no matter how great or small, you have made a difference, whether they have stayed a day, a week or years, knowing that you have said YES I have achieved something with this young person is a good feeling

Hillcrest Fostercare achieved overall outstanding in our most recent Ofsted Report. To read further details  please click here
