"Young people, without exception, feel safe living in the home. Young people achieve extremely well in all areas of their lives; this is a result of careful and comprehensive planning for their care." Latest Ofsted Report
Philosophy of care
Hillcrest Oathill Lodge offers young people the chance to work in and experience living in groups. The home was opened by Hillcrest in response to requests from our local authority partners for a rural provision for girls at risk from an urban environment.
The home works with girls who abscond, present sexualised behaviour and who pose challenging and aggressive behaviour. By setting clear boundaries and having high expectations, the girl's behaviours are managed through building higher self esteem and enhancing positive self image.
Hillcrest Oathill Lodge is able to offer semi independence training in its own self contained flat by enabling the residents to follow a programme of independent training living.

Therapeutic provision
Work at Oathill is overseen by the Practice Leader and management team who have a wealth of experience. The practice is also supported by a Consultant Psychologist and Psychotherapists. Therapeutic provision can include Counselling, Art Therapy, Play Therapy and Music Interaction to reinforce the Hillcrest philosophy of providing a more therapeutic approach to child care.
Education
Education is provided at nearby Park School, registered with Ofsted and catering for children aged 8-16yrs from Hillcrest's own homes in the area. Education is provided in a structured and caring environment and planned to meet both academic and pastoral needs of the children.
The education provision is continuously developing and is flexible to the needs of the individuals as well as the demands of the National Curriculum.

Activities
Young people enjoy a range of activities such as: swimming, athletics, health & beauty, camping, horse riding, guides, holidays away and day trips to local centres, as well as outward bound activities.
Admissions
Wherever possible admissions should be planned and involve all family and professionals so as to ensure each placement has the best possible start. Emergency referrals can be considered in certain circumstances.
